Sananda Tilottama is Eastern-India's largest beauty pageant. It features girls from the age of 18-21 from Kolkata and Guwahati. Since its inception, Sananda Tilottama has had a quest to discover new talents in young Bengali girls. It has given rise to new talents who are now successfully established in the film or modelling world. Some famous celebrities who have launched themselves from Sananda Tilottama are Bipasha Basu, Celina Jaitley, Reshmi Ghosh, Tanushree Dutta, Koena Mitra, Dimpy Ganguly and Ushoshi Sengupta. Eight participants are chosen from Kolkata and two from Guwahati, then begins the 4-week long grooming session that includes dieting, skin care and poise and etiquette. Some of their grooming experts are supermodel Nayanika Chatterjee, radio jockey Mir and dancer Sukalyan Bhattacharjee.
